Mancamp
What treat will Mancamp get?
Did you know that KMSU has a hamster named Mancamp who runs the station’s texting machine?
Every time someone texts KMSU, a light flashes in a little room in the basement of the Alumni Foundation Building. Mancamp is trained to jump on his hamster wheel and start spinning. The text then pops out of the texting machine on a tiny piece of paper (similar to a fortune cookie) and is funneled to us via an elaborate tunnel system similar to the one in the film Brazil. All of this keeps Mancamp occupied; otherwise he just sits idly by collecting stamps and shooting hoops.
He’s well taken care of during off-hours, but Mancamp also gets a special treat from a foodservice provider for every text he powers up to the studio. Every day the treat changes, and we never know in advance what it’ll be.
IF YOU CAN GUESS THE TREAT MANCAMP WILL RECEIVE ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2023… YOU WILL WIN A SPECIAL TREAT OF YOUR OWN!
Submit your guess any time up until the start of our TMBG marathon on 6:00 am Central; one submission per person, please. The winner will be announced shortly after we find out for ourselves what Mancamp’s getting that morning! Be sure to include your email address so we can contact you if you win.
P.S. No idea what kind of treats Mancamp normally gets? You’ll need to start listening to Shuffle Function with Shyboy Tim & Shelley (weekday mornings on KMSU from 6-9 am Central) to find out!
